| Which way is the best for me? |
There are a range of the different ways of selling and marketing your consulting service - from referral-networks to cold-calling. You need to know which of these are going to help you and avoid those that will just waste your time and money.
Whilst many independant consultants find it easier to contract out at another organisation at a fixed rate this has a number of disadvantages and it can end up costing you money:
- you get stuck on the day-rate game
- you don't get time to develop your offering and increase your value or..
- you get caught in the feast-or-famine cycle as you are either very busy or very quiet!
It doesn't have to be like that. There are a number of simple alternatives which enable you to get much more value whilst still delivering excellent value for your client.
